Trib Local: Activists race against clock to save branch libraries

With the clock ticking on operations at Evanston’s North and South branch libraries, a new group has taken up the daunting task of saving both branches—and expanding library access to underserved areas of the city.

The group, Evanston Public Library Friends, is the new creation of branchLove.org organizers, who for the past few months have actively lobbied to keep both branches open while they work to find alternative funding options.
