Thanks to everyone who came out to tonight’s Volunteer meeting at South Branch. There were a lot of new faces in the crowd and that’s always exciting. We walked through a number of our upcoming activities and events – thanks to those of you who signed up to help with our Charter Membership drive. We’ve recruited hundreds of new members and the Evanston Libraries will be stronger for it. Membership is free [a $25 savings] through the end of National Library Week — April 17th. Forms can be downloaded here.
Thank you also to Margo Gremmler who has been blogging to save the libraries. Her most recent effort is part of a library-loving blog challenge which was the brainchild of Jennifer Hubbard. Jennnifer encouraged bloggers from all over to do the challenge for their local libraries. The official challenge is on now, 3/23-27, and for everyone who goes to Margo’s blog and makes a comment, Margo will donate $1 to the Evanston Public Library Friends — up to $150.
Also, for anyone who made a pledge to branchLove, you can make your donation to EPL Friends by check and mail to the info below, or hit the donate link on the left and pay by Paypal. The donations have continued to come in every day, and we are extremely grateful to everyone who has donated. Your donation will be tax deductible retroactively to the date of our incorporation, once our 501c3 status is approved.
Last, but not least, if you have kids, make sure they are participating in the Read a Thon for the Libraries! It’s a great way for the to get involved in helping to save the libraries.

Thanks for linking to my blog, Lori!
Anyone who has their own blog can participate in the library-loving blog challenge, too. Just visit this link for all the details: http://writerjenn.livejournal.com/158131.html
I'd love to see more Evanston/Chicago blogs on Jenn's list of participants!
