We had a board meeting last night and walked through the calendar of events for the next few months. Whew! We’ll be updating the events page and sending an email to the members, but as a quick teaser:


Wed., May 5, 10AM Gaylon Emerzian will be filming patrons at South Branch

Thursday, May 13, 7PM Three Crowns Park: Member Meeting,
please try to attend and get up to the minute info on where things stand and opportunities to get involved. There will be sign up sheets for membership presence and tote / tshirt sales at the libraries and garden fair, collecting books for the book sale and other upcoming events.

Online “Armchair Auction” May 1-May 30th   Kick off bidding on May 15, make your donation at   (Accepting donations through end of May)

May 19th – Library Board Meeting. There are two vacancies for the Library Board, if you are interested in filling a seat, go online to the City’s website and fill out an application.

Fri/Saturday May 21-22 — Central Street Garden Fair, Come Sell Lemonade for the Libraries, or sign up to sell spiritwear. Storybook Mom Nilli Yellin will be at North Branch.

Tuesday, June 1 – Make a Noodle Necklace at North Branch

Wednesday, June 2 — Make a Noodle Necklace at South Branch

Thursday, June 3, – SPEAKING OF NOODLES… Take your family to Noodles &; Co. mention EPL Friends and 25% of their profits will go to helping save the libraries. How easy (and delicious) is that?

Saturday, June 12th – Join us at Main Street Depot for Marilyn Price, puppeteer, and a celebration of our fundraising efforts to date! Times TBD

July 16 – 17 – THE MOTHER OF ALL BOOK SALES, Location TBD, but EPL Friends has a fundraising mission like you read about! Volumes of fun, loads of books, cd’s, dvd’s and vinyl records! We’re not quite ready to take your donations just yet, but if you’ve got ’em, we want ’em. Sit tight for more info coming soon!
