…yes we CAN!

May 22nd, 2010

Enormous thanks to Colleen Chappelle and Cheryl Chamberlyn and their crew of Auction miracle workers who transformed an empty space on Central Street into a gallery of gawkers for our Friday Night viewing of Armchair Auction artwork, including the more than 30+ artists Watering Cans!

Colleen and Cheryl have been working ’round the clock (literally) to orchestrate the auction and we are enormously grateful for their hard work.
Only halfway through the auction, and we’ve already raised more than $14,000! If you didn’t get a chance to come by the gallery last night, stop by Saturday until 4PM or peek in the windows this week at 2112 Central Street. Thanks also to Our Gang Partners for the use of the space, and to Homemade Pizza for their donation of Pizzas to our array of goodies last night. Thanks to everyone’s generosity, we raised another $800 in donations last night, and everyone got a chance to get a closer look at items they want to bid on soon.

There’s just over a week left to bid at www.eplfriendsauction.org, so be sure you take a look and share the site with your friends. Since it’s virtual, anyone anywhere can bid.
The Armchair Auction gallery event was featured on Crain’s Chicago Business Top 10 Things to Do this Weekend.
Thanks to everyone who has contributed to the auction, and to those of you who are bidding!
And, special thanks to Nili Yelin, Storybook Mom, who performed this morning at North Branch in conjunction with the Garden Fair, and to our team of fearless Lemonade for the Libraries volunteers. We had more than $250 in the can today on Central Street — it pays to pucker.
